I’ve travelled to some pretty interesting parts of the world, and often been dismayed at how society has evolved. However, I derive pleasure in the secure knowledge that my tiny little pocket of the south west of Western Australia was immune to the scurges of society. Aparently not.

Lately I have been noticing more and more schools are being fit with huge fences & barbed wire. Large gates consisting of speared star pickets greet the children as they come to school. From the inside it looks more like a prison yard.

Don’t mistaken me for someone who doesn’t know the drill regarding protecting the children. I know full well why they are there. To protect property & children.

However………..

You should really be behind the bars? The little assholes that make this kind of thing necessary? Or the children?

You got to be fucking kidding me that our children have to be subjected to bars & roller shutters on their homes, and are getting greeted at school by them. What kind of mindset is this setting for our children? Is this the sign that if its not protected it’s fair game kids? Is this what we have already done with many of our other security practices?

I’m jack shit of it. Start getting this bloody legal system working properly & not letting thugs get away with this thuggery. Pump more money into our police & emergency services instead of compensating crooks who get off on technicalities.
