Part 2 - Finally Meeting Each Other

Part 2 - Finally Meeting Each Other

I finally decided I was going to take a holiday. So, I started to plan a train holiday around the UK & Europe. I thought it would be cool if after 6 years Paul & I got to meet up. I asked if he wanted to meet up somewhere & come camping with me. He agreed & we started to plan our trip.

We enjoyed planning our trip. Paul has a 4WD Landrover so I thought that would be the perfect camping vehicle. I suggested to Paul that we turn our train trip into a 4WD trip so we can cover more ground. In July 2009 I left to go to the UK and meet up with Paul & go on a camping trip around England & Scotland. We had such a great time! We got on fantastically. Found we like doing a lot of the same things. We already knew that we were good companions, and this holiday confirmed it.

During this time Paul took me to meet his family and stay on their property for a few weeks while touring the area. I also took him to visit friends of mine further north & in London.

Then the holiday had to come to an end. The trip to the airport was miserable. I wasn't looking forward to my life at home, and I knew I was going to miss his companionship & friendship. From the looks of it, Paul felt the same at the time. Saying goodbye was very hard & involved many tears. Later Paul told me he couldn't leave the airport for a long time because he felt so sad.

It took Paul only a few weeks to decide that he was coming to Australia to visit me for 3 months. I decided to go on a camping trip around Western Australia with Paul. On the first day in Australia, he came with me to meet up with fellow web professionals (ICT industry). Paul was & is a web developer & systems administrator who owns his own company in the UK, so it was a great opportunity to meet up with others in the industry in Perth.
