Absolutely Australia began back in 2003, when I first started writing stories about Australia, its towns, landscapes, quirks, and characters. What started as a passion project quickly grew into a digital archive of places and experiences, mostly focused on regional towns and travel tips. But when Covid hit and visitor numbers dropped, I knew it was time to pivot. I shifted the focus toward stories about the life and times of Australia, everyday moments, cultural oddities, bush lore, and the spirit that makes this country so unique. That change resonated. People weren't just looking for destinations anymore, they wanted connection, insight, and a deeper sense of place.

The site now supports itself through advertising, and it also helps fund my other not-for-profit ventures. It's evolved into something more than a travel directory, it’s a living, breathing reflection of Australia's soul, told through stories I've been writing for over two decades.
