Canada

living in the great north

Canada

Moving to Canada was never just about a change of scenery, it was a full immersion into a new culture, climate, and way of life. I traded the familiar warmth of Australia for snowdrifts that swallowed fences and buried cars. At one point, I was snowed in under two metres of snow, with nothing to read but a stack of web design books.

With nowhere to go and nothing else to distract me, I read. I learned. I experimented. That snowstorm became a turning point, not just in weather, but in my career. I deepened my understanding of digital platforms, refined my skills, and laid the groundwork for what would eventually become Absolutely Australia and the other ventures I now lead.

Living in Canada was beautiful, vast landscapes, crisp air, and a sense of quiet that invites reflection. But it wasn't always easy. The cultural shift was real, and while many locals were welcoming, I found French Canadians could be a little... reserved.
